Igniting the Spirit: Celebrating our 2023 Jump Rope for Heart Champions

12 Dec 2023

Embarking on a journey fueled by passion, Jump Rope for Heart proudly unveils the extraordinary teachers who have taken the art of skipping to dazzling heights in 2023. These are not just coordinators; they are the heartbeat of our movement, the champions who have gone above and beyond to orchestrate triumphs in their schools.

Coordinator of the Year 2023

The Jump Rope for Heart Coordinator of the Year for 2023 is Emma Tree from Cowra Public School.

New Coordinator Emma took on Jump Rope for Heart after a skipping hiatus at the Cowra Public School. After a week into their program, the school surpassed their initial fundraising goals. With the support of their local community, the school raised over $13,500 for Jump Rope for Heart and the Heart Foundation. This was no ordinary feat but at testament to Emma’s unwavering commitment.

Emma created a public Facebook page for the school community where they shared updates, skipping challenges, teachers and student highlights and personalised videos received from Jump Rope for Heart Field Officer, Nina Rider.

Throughout the program, student Heart Heroes learnt about healthy eating, heart health and of course skipping. These student Heart Heroes skipped their way logging over 218 hours.

The engagement of Cowra Public School was amazing! Teachers, parents, students, and the school community rallied behind the program. The school were able to get support from the P&C and their local Coles Supermarket for their Jump Off Day. Three hundred and eighty student Heart Heroes were provided with a free healthy lunch and a cold snack after skipping activities and celebrations.

Congratulations to Emma! You are not just a coordinator; you are the orchestrator of joy, health, and community spirit. Congratulations on a triumphant year and thank you for being a true Jump Rope for Heart Champion!
